What it appears to me is -- due to the fact that the Continuity of Government Program has built huge underground enclaves -- is

our leaders are deserting us, here on the surface, to whatever happens.

We have NO leadership anymore. There is nobody responsible and nobody accountable.  They're ALL LEAVING, the Elites.

Background
2007 TU24 was discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey (Arizona) on October 11, 2007.
This object's 1.4-lunar-distance approach on Jan. 29 is the closest for any
known Potentially Hazardous Asteroid until 2027.

Apart from its absolute visual magnitude (H = 20.1, implying a
diameter ~0.3 km if it has a typical S-class albedo), nothing is known
about TU24's physical properties, but the expected echo
signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) almost certainly will suffice for
high-resolution imaging using Arecibo or Goldstone.

Goldstone observations are scheduled on January 23 and Arecibo observations are
scheduled on January 27-28 and February 1-4. Note that Goldstone observations straddle
the January 23-24 date boundary.

This object will brighten to about 11th magnitude in late January
when it will be a target for photometric and spectroscopic observations.

Orbital and Physical Characteristics
orbit type Apollo
semimajor axis 2.010 AU
eccentricity 0.529
inclination 5.8
perihelion distance 0.947 AU
aphelion distance 3.073 AU
absolute magnitude (H) 20.1
diameter 300 meters +- a factor of two
rotation period unknown
pole direction unknown
lightcurve amplitude unknown
spectral class unknown

We would like to thank the following stations, which have provided astrometry
since we announced our intentions to schedule radar observations of this object:

204 Schiaparelli Observatory Italy
432 Boambee Australia
448 Desert Moon Observatory New Mexico, USA
E12 Siding Spring Australia
I77 CEAMIG-REA Observatory Brazil

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2007 TU24 INTERVAL OF CLOSE APPROACH PREDICTIBILITY

These lists of planetary encounters <0.1 AU terminate at the last Earth encounter prior to the linearized 3-standard-deviation (3 sigma) time of close approach uncertainty (TCA3Sg) exceeding +/- 10 days. The nominal distance is the highest probability approach distance of the reference trajectory to the given body. Minimum and Maximum are the 3-sigma distances from the body at the nominal encounter time. Vrel is the nominal relative velocity. Integrations were performed using the DE403 planetary ephemeris and include relativistic perturbations due to the Sun, planets, and Moon, and asteroids Ceres, Pallas, and Vesta. Calendar dates after 1582-Oct-15 are reported in the Gregorian Calendar. Prior to that, dates are reported in Julian Calendar. "CA dist" is the highest probability approach distance of the reference trajectory to the given body. The limits of predictability for objects having multiple planetary encounters over centuries will normally be affected by additional factors such as radiation pressure, Yarkovsky acceleration, planetary mass uncertainties, and asteroid perturbations. These factors are not included here, since the relevant physical models are imprecisely defined and key parameters are unmeasured.

---------------------------------------------------
From Jon Giorgini, 2008 Jan. 18:

The 2007 TU24 sol #17 interval is now 1890 - 2008.
This is largely due to there not being other close approaches for the next
few decades after this very close approach in 2008 (0.0037 AU) and then a
somewhat close one in 2046 (0.019 AU).

It's going to come within 0.003705 AU of us.

which

by the way

is 344401 miles away

which

by the way

is 3 times the Earth's diameter

which

by the way

is 105501 miles away from the moon

If you're going to worry about it hitting us, why do you not care that it's coming closer to the moon?

...In fact, why are you worrying about it at all? o_0

Apparently you don't know enough about astronomy to understand how the magnetosphere (starting a million miles out) of the earth can interact with the plasma surrounding a metallic projectile the size of Sears Tower.

You're just debunking.  Wrong facts you bring here.  Irrelevancies.

Actually, my understanding is that if the moon even moves a fraction of a centimeter off its regular orbit, the consequences here on earth are dire. I'm talking day after tomorrow type stuff.

I hear all the leaders are in Switzerland presently, for a conference.

Anybody know anything about that?

I love you. Anyone who doesn't blindly follow you is a cold-hearted debunker with bad facts and a government paycheck.

Regardless that sort of thing happens all the time, Earth will be alright.

I realize, you would like earth to be aright.

But that's not enough in the grown up internet world.  You have to search, cite and document and keep your images and copyrights straight.

Some of us have been here doing this for a long time; and when we run into somebody who's glossing over, waving off and wishing for agreement (without facts to substantiate one's wishes), it just doesn't get taken seriously.

You don't take me seriously; I don't take you seriously. This conversation has nowhere to go until some SALIENT facts show up about the magnetosphere and the plasma cover on this asteroid.

You know facts can be fake and documents can be forged. Prove to me why your 'facts' are trustworthy.

That's not my job.  I'm not here to convince you of anything.

Go research the matter yourself.

I know what I know and that's my work :: what I know.

Your work is what you know.

So you'll keep your knowledge to yourself and leave me to find these rare and magical trustworthy conspiracy sources? I'll get right on that after I find the holy grail.

But pretty much you're all talk until it comes to proving yourself right, where it is magically no longer your problem.

It never was my problem.

It never IS anybody's problem, to convince anybody else of anything.

Each of us believes what we choose to believe.

And getting argumentative about it, changes nothing.

Right now, I'm preoccupied with and disturbed over the fact my commercial web-site has been hacked and vandalized.

So I'm not taking you on, as a problem, okay?

Right, right. So you can say I do no research and call me a child and accuse me of using no facts, and when I ask for some of your magic information you no longer care about the subject.

She's giving you a website to visit to get the theories, facts and references yourself.

Where? Also it would greatly help if I wasn't left to grope in the dark, and she linked me to relevant articles instead of taking the "LOL I DONT CARE ANYMORE" route.

Don't blindly support her either just because you dislike me. Open your eyes and take a good look at this.

You surprise me with your rational appeal, SATIRE-CHAN. Ok, I'll throw the ball back into Chaiya's court.
